Cancellations and Rescheduling Policy
Cancellation by the Couple
In the event that the couple decides to cancel their service, please note that the retainer fee is non-refundable.
If cancellation occurs after the final payment has been made, a refund of the remaining amount may be considered based on the timing of the cancellation. The following guidelines apply:
Cancellation by the Officiant
If the officiant is unable to perform the ceremony due to unforeseen circumstances (such as illness, accident, or natural disasters), they will inform the couple as soon as possible. The officiant will make every effort to find a suitable replacement or provide a full refund of all fees paid by the couple.
Rescheduling
Should the couple need to reschedule the ceremony, the retainer fee can be applied to a new date, depending on the officiant's availability.
Couple's Responsibilities
1. Obtain a Florida marriage license from any county clerk's office.
2. If both partners are Florida residents, ensure that the required three-day waiting period has passed before the ceremony. Non-residents are exempt from this waiting period.
3. Bring the marriage license to the ceremony for the officiant to sign.
4. Provide the officiant with the necessary information and feedback for creating the ceremony script within the agreed-upon timeframe.
Logistics and Conduct
Dress Code
The officiant shall don suitable professional attire in neutral colors that complement the wedding party's color scheme. Specific attire may be discussed and mutually agreed upon during the consultation process.
Travel Fees
Travel fees may be applicable for ceremonies located beyond a specified radius of 10 miles from the officiant's primary location. This information will be clearly articulated in the contract.
Inclement Weather
In the event of adverse weather conditions, it is the responsibility of the couple to establish a contingency plan. The officiant shall not be held accountable for any alterations or delays resulting from weather-related issues.
Legal Considerations
Legal Authorization
Under Florida law, various individuals are authorized to officiate weddings. This includes ordained ministers, notaries public, and judicial officers. Individuals acting in the capacity of an ordained minister must be a minimum of 18 years of age and must provide proof of their ordination.
Hold Harmless Clause
The couple agrees to indemnify and hold the officiant harmless from any claims for damages, liability, or loss arising out of the ceremony, except in circumstances involving the officiant's gross negligence or willful misconduct.
Governing Law
This agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida.
